Heritage Park

Heritage Park is a 105-acre nature preserve that also serves as one of the trailheads along the Silver Comet. With ruins of the old Concord Woolen Mills mill and mill house and access to forests and wetlands along Nickajack creek, as well as restrooms and a picnic area, the park is a great stop along the trail. The nearby Concord Covered Bridge is famous as the only covered bridge remaining in Cobb County, and it is still open to automobile traffic. There is said to have been a bridge at this location since the 1840’s, supporting the surrounding grist mills, saw mills, cotton mills and woolen mills along Nickajack creek.
